Email Marketing: A Low Cost Internet Marketing

Email marketing is labeled as a killer method when it comes to effective low-cost Internet marketing endeavors. This is because it is the most widely-used and has the best reputation in bringing targeted traffic to websites. It is used to stay in touch with your customers or prospective customers, send out invitations, or make special offers.

It's as easy as writing an e-mail that may be in a form of a newsletter or a plain announcement, and sending that to as many targeted recipients as possible. However, there's an ideal way of going about it. Email marketing is not just about writing any email that you will be sending to anybody. To clarify that, here are some simple tips in doing email marketing the best way possible.

1. Join the "Can Spam" campaign.

Email marketing is not at any rate tantamount to spamming. You are not supposed to send information that your email list will not have any valuable use for.

2. Make your email list open it.

Your email might get lost together with the hundreds of emails that inbox owners are confronted with everyday. Improve your subject line by using extra white space creatively, adding text symbols, starting each word with a capital letter, asking compelling questions, not making any unbelievable claims, and not using the word FREE.

3. Keep it real.

Not including any too good to be true statements is not only applicable to your subject line. Your email content must never embody any promise your business can't keep. Make your offer genuinely of value to your recipients.

4. Don't go too low.

If you inform your customers regarding discounts, minimal discounts are not that effective compared with substantial discounts. But never offer discounts that are lower than your profit. It will defeat the purpose of this email marketing effort.

5. Make it eventful.

It's not about contradicting the advice that you should keep an email short and sweet. This tip is on including seminars, conferences and other events in your email. Businesses that require training benefit much from this method. With these RSVP-requiring emails, repetition is important. Just make sure that an ample interval is considered before sending out a reminder email.

6. Post news.

Sending newsletters and postcards provides useful information for your subscribers. These are the best forms of reaching out to your customers or prospects. You should keep the information short, simple and direct to the point for this feat to be effective.

With these simple ways of going about your email marketing endeavor, your business will prosper in no time.Visit All1and1.com for more information.

Tips for Successful Internet Marketing

Successful Internet marketing is not just getting lucky. Instead, successful Internet marketing is about making a plan based on the tools that have already proven successful and working that plan until they prove successful for you as well. The following tips for Internet marketing should help you get started and be successful as well.

Internet Marketing Tip #1 Well Designed Site A well designed site from the font to the colours used as well as the layout is critical for success. Once you get people to your website you want them to stay there and in order for this to happen your site needs to look professional, be user friendly, informative, and have all the information easily accessible to visitors. If you cannot design a site yourself then hire someone to do it for you. This expense really is worthwhile because a professional site reflects professional products and services whereas a amateur looking site reflects an amateur business that is not to be taken seriously.

Internet Marketing Tip #2 Links Links are very important to your Internet marketing campaign simply because they will help you in the ratings. Because of this you want to strive to have as many one way links or even backwards links to your site as possible. The more you have the higher your site will be ranked with Google, Yahoo, MSN, and other big search engines and the more visitors you will have.

Internet Marketing Tip #3 Keywords Many search engines focus on keywords to help rank your site. For example, when an individual searches for a particular brand of shoes and you sell those shoes you want to be ranked close to the top to help you get a new customer. If you want that customer you need to include the keywords he is searching for on your website to help your site be returned as a result. Because of this you need a variety of keyword articles on your site that are written around a variety of keywords that people use to find your products or services.

Internet Marketing Tip #4 Things to Avoid Your Internet marketing can be perfect and bring in lots of visitors, however if your site uses frames, flash, JavaScript, and things of that nature that make it difficult to load your site then you will lose your visitors no matter how low your prices or great your products or services. So, when you are designing your site be sure you are aware of the different design methods that could make your site look really good, but take too long to open and turn visitors away.

"An Internet Marketing Seed"

Dear Fellow Internet Marketer,

I was watching this outstanding video which focuses on the much needed concept of creating a product that will allow you to expand eventually into other markets because the people that initiallly buy your product will also buy your next products because of the close relation of the products to each other. You see this is about creating an internet marketing kingdom, a virtual empire of products that all start with one tiny seed that is planted in the fertile soil of those hearts that are eager for your particular product. For example, I am in the process of creating a set of onlline videos where I teach students the various techniques needed to speak English. My area of expertise lies in the field of ESL(English as a second language) of which I have been blessed to have over 10 years of experience teaching to adult learners. My target market would be foreign adults who wish to learn English via video. I realize though that if I wish to branch out and sell different yet similar products later I will have to pick a product that these learners would also enjoy. I remember having some great end of the semester food parties in the classes that I taught where both myself and my students brought in dishes from other countries that many enjoyed and this lead me to the idea of having an esl cookbook with recipes submitted from actual students and selling that cookbook to other esl students online. Branching out even further if there was enough interest in the cookbook a cooking forum could be established as well as an online cooking class with graduates of my esl video courses eventually teaching the course. But It is amazing to see how all this began from this one little seed namely the online esl videos and spread to a cookbook, a cooking online school and a cooking forum. As we all know marketing is a numbers game and the bigger of number of people that you have on your marketing list the better your chance of survival and dominance. Think about your seed before you plant it. You want to plant it so it can grow and grow and grow into something huge. When you look into the jungle what do you see trees, trees and yes more trees. That is what I want my product to turn into names, names and yet more names of individuals who want my first product and my second and my third and I could go on. The cool thing about it is that those who may not be interested in esl may be interested in cooking and vice versa. I could use the cooking bait to reel in the esl fish and use the esl bait to reel in the cook book fish. Boy, I hope all this food talk is not making you all too hungry to finish this article. I hope it is making you hungrier to find a product that you can develop or a market that you can enter that has the potential to be that seed that which will turn into money jungle. This will give you the freedom to spend time doing what is really important not just going to a job you don't like just to survive. I hope to create an online marketing kingdom where I am the king and my wife is the queen and my daughter will have the choice to attend college or as the princess of the family become the boss while the queen and I enjoy our travels. It all starts with this one seed. The Bible talks about having the faith of a mustard seed and what can happen if we have just a bit of faith. We have to have dreams, big dreams and seeing those dreams become realities is quite inspirational and shows that this internet marketing thing is real. No one in your circle of naysayers can argue with your results unless they choose to be up against the truth of your success.

Much Continued Success,

Lao Anthony

I'm an Internet Marketing Guru

I trained as an accountant so I'm not used to being excited about my work.

I've changed careers and I'm now an Internet marketing guru. I've got all the right tools in my bag... I've written an eBook, I have a direct response web site AND my very own opt-in newsletter. I've also joined some great affiliate programs. In short, I know what I'm doing and I can teach others to do the same. All I have to do is sit back and watch the money roll in. I'm excited!

I'll just check my hit counter for today. Hang on, there must be a zero missing... they must mean 50 hits not 5. And how many eBook sales today? Only one. That's odd - I've got some great testimonials for the eBook and I've told loads of people about it. And only $40 in affiliate sales so far today. The affiliate programs are for some of the best Internet marketing products you can find. What's going wrong?

1. I'm more excited than most of my potential customers. 2. There aren't enough of them.

Having great products and a great web site is about as much use as a chocolate fireguard if I don't have traffic. It's a bit like me opening a McDonald's halfway up Mount Everest; however good my burgers are, I won't get many customers.

OK, so I'd better downgrade my status. I'm no longer an Internet marketing guru. I just know a lot more than someone starting out with an online business. Now I come to think about it, the real gurus don't even call themselves 'gurus' or even 'experts'. And none of them reached the lofty status of respectability in a few weeks; it took months and in most cases years. Most of them say they are still learning.

The Internet marketing hype stories are getting taller, just as the promised timescale for online millionaire status is getting shorter. I get many emails which suggest that if I invest just $39.99, $14.99 or even $zero, I can make thousands of dollars a month within a few weeks. I can master the art of Internet marketing in one course or one eBook and 'hey presto' I will be successful, with lots of money rolling in on autopilot. In some cases I'm told I can just sign up without doing any work.

The Internet gives us a powerful potential source of income, however, like any trade or profession, it takes time and effort to learn how to succeed. It took me 5 years to qualify as an accountant and with my new career it has taken me just 6 months or so to get a successful business going... but it wasn't 6 WEEKS and no, I'm not earning millions yet.

In any home-based business you obviously need a good product or 'formula'. There are three other essential ingredients which are often omitted from the success recipe:

1. Realistic expectations.
2. Motivation.
3. Action... doing not just hoping!

Most people who quit a home-based business have unrealistic income expectations.

Motivation is often overlooked... do you NEED your online business to be successful or do you just want it to be? If you don't need - or have a burning desire - to succeed, you probably won't. The low investment doesn't help here either. What have you got to lose - $39.99, $14.99 or even $zero?

And as for action, well it's time for me to DO something... back to traffic building school.

Richard Wall left the rat race in 1994. He has 6 years of home-based business experience and his new eBook 'Residual Dream' includes valuable hype-busting information for home-based entrepreneurs.

First Impressions of Online Internet Marketing

About 3 months, I came to the conclusion that I needed a little bit more cash to supplement my income. I am currently a father of 2 and my wife is a stay-at-home mother. I started surfing the web for "make money online" types of keywords and came across a few things:

1) Plenty of bogus offers guarenteeing me millions within a month

2) Affiliating Marketing offering that I will be making $500 per day almost immediately

3) Paid Surveys that are calculating: If I do 5 surveys per day at $20 each, I will make $100/day!

After reading plenty about it (through forums and articles), I chose to try affiliate marketing. At first, I went after it with the instruction of these forums and articles: I signed up for an affiliate website (Commission Junction), set myself up a GoogleAds account and went for it!...

...And lost my shirt! I spent about $200 in about 1 week on advertising and got ZERO sales. My first realization was that I really did not have a clue on what I was doing. One thing that I continued to see on many of the forums was PERSERVERANCE! My story is not a new one and the right mentality and focus are the key! At this point, I chose to get a bit of formal help through an eBook. (I chose the Life Empowered System because I like how it focused on your mental frame of mind, the technical aspects of setting up affiliate marketing campaigns, and the online email support) This helped, a lot! I solved many of my initial problems from reading the eBook alone. BUT!, it takes more than an eBook to make this work!

At this point, I dropped all of my campaigns and started again from scratch. I followed the eBook fairly closely and... ...not a single sale! Again PERSERVERANCE is the key! I continued to research what I was doing wrong and revisited the eBook many times. For every single failure so far, I know an exact reason why it did not work! Affiliate marketing IS A SKILL and it requires study and understanding to make it work! Below are some of my biggest mistakes I had made:

1) Finding AND researching your product!

The product you choose may be the MOST IMPORTANT part about this venture! Understanding your product and its market is the second most important!

2) Understanding HOW to promote your product!

The psychology behind ad-copy is quite interesting, fun and a requirement! Learning how to write an ad that people notice that makes you stand above and beyond the rest is not trivial. It requires thought and research!

3) Understanding WHERE to promote your product!

At first, I bombed with GoogleAds (for a lot of reasons, and none of them are GoogleAds fault!). Then, I even more stupidly started to SPAM people. That just made people hate me. Placing your ads in cost-effective, targeted locations is critical! If you are trying to sell acne medication and you are promoting it on American Idol websites, you will get plenty of costly clickers, but no buyers.

These are things that you learn from experience, read in online forums and articles, and explained in great depth in some of the available eBooks. If you are planning to get into this internet marketing game, be prepared for an initial upward battle, but once you reach the top, things become easier and money will ultimately start to flow! Remember PERSERVERANCE and education (on both affiliate marketing and the products you are promoting) are the keys to a successful and prosperous online money making program.

The Essentials of Free Internet Marketing

The Essentials of Free Internet Marketing

by: Marie Kirschbaum

Given a solid product, a well-developed Web site, and a carefully designed marketing strategy its possible to make good -- even excellent -- sales without investing any money in promotion. That said, it does take a serious investment of time as well as marketing know-how. Although you may still want to invest in paid advertising, free advertising methods can help keep your costs down.

Give them a reason to come

Give potential customers not only a reason to visit the first time, but a reason to keep coming back. Site design marketing strategy and must work together. Whether it's simply advertising a weekly sale item or something more involved, like inviting people to a contest in which visitors find pictures hidden within your Web site to win a prize, the site and marketing should complement each other. The site should be alive -- a product sitting quietly on a page wont get much attention. Provide content that's original and valuable to your target market not just rehashed newswire copy. Add a Send this page script to your articles and try to have them published (with or without pay) on other sites whenever you can. Unique, relevant, and regularly-updated content will both bring you more visitors -- which will in turn improve your search-engine ranking -- and keep your old visitors returning. Organise your site to lead visitors toward making a purchase, enticing them to your products page with tempting suggestions in your one or two of your articles or in your sidebars. Use small banners as in-store ads to attract to your products page from, for example, your feature article page. After all, even if visitors spend time at your discussion group or reading your weekly column, its little use to you unless they buy. Keep your advertisements to a reasonable level, though. While ad copy should be lively and seductive, trying to pass an advertorial off as unbiased information will look superficial.

Schmooz

Connect with the people in your niche and built a community of potential customers. Online and e-mail discussion groups are some of the easiest ways to mingle with potential customers. These groups are usually clubs of regulars, so get to know the people there on a human level, not just as a Web address. Use your URL in your signature, but avoid posting anything outright commercial. Many groups are, frankly, hypersensitive to anyone smelling of the promotions department. If you start your own discussion group, remember that people rarely leave messages on a board that looks inactive. Liven up the board to life first by inviting friends and family in and asking each other open-ended, relevant questions or by inventing a few personalities and talking with yourself for a while. Anything you can do to build a community around your site will help. People are far more likely to buy from someone they feel they know not to mention someone they can find!

Encourage word of mouth

The Internet was meant to be just that a network of people exchanging information -- and linking often brings as much traffic as the search engines. Banner or link exchanges with sites of similar size and complimentary but not competing product-line will introduce your site to a targeted, buying audience. However, FFA links don't increase you search engine rank and usually don't garner much traffic unless placed in small, narrowly-targeted sites. A better option is getting listed in a directory relevant to your sites subject. As a variation on the banner-exchange, try article-for-article or article-for-link exchanges with other sites and newsletters. A well-placed, informative article can attract a lot of positive attention.

Viral marketing is another way to encourage word of mouth. Offer free e-cards or a useful free e-book that people in your market will pass on to friends. Alternatively, selectively send out a story, tips sheet, or anything else uniquely useful that will get passed around. Something with your URL on it that comes from a familiar address has far more weight with the recipient than any email-list ad campaign from an unknown address. Have a Refer a Friend scripts and offer an incentive for your visitors to actually refer their friends.

Do what you can to get into the major search engines and keep up on search-engine optimisation, but don't waste all your time on monitoring your rank. If you've found your market niche, your rank will almost take care of itself. Don't neglect the speciality search engines, either -- they exist for health, music, pet care, and almost everything else and offer a more targeted audience and less competition.

Drop in on them

A useful, regularly-delivered opt-in newsletter is the ideal way to remind you customers about your site. But don't bombard them with ads or fluff --make the newsletter so useful your readers want to pass it on to their friends. Within the newsletters, give them a reason to return to your site, such as a new article, a sale, or a quiz with the answers at the site. At some point send out a survey asking customers what exactly they want, either from Web sites like yours or products like yours. For even more mileage, offer to swap ads or articles with other newsletters.

Getting nothing for nothing

Not every marketing scheme works as well as its promoters would sometimes have you think. Generally free classifieds work only in the narrowest markets. Free sites (porthole sites) at tripod and the like can work if they contain real content and with perhaps a different slant than your main site or are used to highlight a specific product. Bulk e-mail ad-campaigns are often disappointing in results and may make you more enemies than friends. This technique, while it still brings in buyers in some markets, is working less than it used to.

Study, study, study!

Keep researching -- it may take some trial and error to find the techniques that fit your product and market. Given the rapid pace of Internet development, networking is usually the most efficient way to stay on top of advancements. There are a number of sites, discussion groups, and newsletters devoted to Internet promotions that will help you keep up with marketing trends and techniques and gather new ideas. If your business strategies are sound and your product is in demand, you may well be able to make a solid profit even without a bottomless advertising budget.

Why Internet Marketing Resembles Frogs

If there is one thing I love about Internet marketing, it's the challenge. No, I don't mean the challenge of making money, although that's fun, too.

I'm talking about little challenges we all throw up to each other. I mean, let's face it. Any Internet marketer that's worth his or her salt and pepper will always, eventually, find a way to invite everyone they meet up with to look into their particular opportunity. That's a good thing, usually, because that's our business, spreading the word.

However, what happens when one Internet marketer meets up with another?

Ha, ha! The challenge!

CHALLENGES

Round One : Who can spit it out faster!

Being respectful of others and yet still finding the opportunity to ask others to look at your business is always challenging. I mean, you can't just scan quickly through what others say to you and then come back with, "Yeah, that's nice. Now, look at this amazing opportunity!"

That's just plain rude and not going to get you anywhere.

No, a good networker looks for opportunities to inform others of what they are doing and what they believe in about their business based on what the other person says. Still, it's a challenge to turn conversations to where you are talking more about your opportunity than the other persons, and let's face it, that's what we are all trying to do.

Round Two: Mine is better!

At times, the conversation turns more heated. That's not necessarily bad, it just happens. In those conversations, however, it inevitably comes down to a "See, mine is better!" type of contest. We all start throwing benefits and potential incomes at each other like poison darts, trying to score a concession.

I'm not sure this gains anyone any ground, but nevertheless at times it takes place.

Round Three: How mine will benefit yours!

A smart networker, however, will not compare straight across and start and argument. Instead, it's better to describe how your particular opportunity or service will be beneficial to what the person you are talking to is already involved with. In that way, you CAN talk about the other person's business, just keep relating how yours is complimentary to it and can help improve their results.

RESOLUTIONS

Now, there are a few different resolutions to these little clashes between networkers.

Resolution One: Auto responder war.

At times people end up with each other's auto responders doing all the battling for them. One auto responder sends to another which gets an auto response back which creates another auto response, and so on. Normally, this accomplishes nothing. However, there may be the odd chance that as each person's message registers on the other person's auto responder, there might at some point be human eyes that actually see one of the sent messages. This, of course, depends on how the auto responders in question work.

It's not likely, however, and just so you know, subscribing to an ezine with your auto responder address most definitely does NOT work! Sneaky little tricks like that create so much anger in the recipient, you could be giving away money and no one would care.

Resolution Two: Trading Links

If politeness reigns over the exchange, but neither are interested in what the other has to offer, eventually someone may offer the idea of trading links or swapping ads if both happen to be ezine publishers. This resolution may potentially do both parties some good and is an example of how being polite even if you are completely uninterested in the other person can turn out to your benefit.

Resolution Three: I'll join yours if you join mine!

Hey, if both of you have something worthwhile, this is a possible solution. If you seem to be on the same level as far as commitment, knowledge, and experience, this often is the result. However, if one more experienced marketer who has become involved in a legitimate business meets up with a newbie still pushing 'get rich quick' this is not likely to happen. In those cases, however, resolution four usually takes place.

Resolution Four: And we have a winner!

It's true, sometimes experience, skill, and knowledge pay off. The marketer who's been around awhile often will take a stand on what they are already doing and exhibit their belief in their business. Many times, that shines through so powerfully, especially to those who have not yet found such strong belief in their business, that the other person wants to feel that conviction as well. The more convincing marketer then gains a new recruit.

Ah yes, Internet marketing is such a joy. Everyone is looking for more people to sign up with them, but yet a large percentage of others you run into are doing the exact same thing. Consequently, it becomes a bit of a battle.

Actually, it kind of reminds me of a picture I saw in high school biology once. It showed how all the male frogs, who hadn't gotten enough yet, got together in one big clump after no more of the female frogs cared for further mating.

But never mind, I don't want to go there.

Sins of the Internet Marketing Godfathers

Sins of the Internet Marketing Godfathers

by: Ed Zivkovic

What is an Internet Marketing Godfather?

Someone who I *perceive* to know more about Internet Marketing Stuff than me. Usually, my thinking tells me that if they are making more money than me, I should listen to them.

But consider this. How come some Internet Marketing Gurus do not even tell you what script they use to manage their affiliate program?

Obviously this is an important ingredient in the Internet Marketing recipe. Of course it is, but they want to tell you how to get rich marketing their products. They will even sell you tools to help you with this.

Consider this too. Internet Marketers first mail their joint-venture partners with their *new* product. After the joint venture partners have mailed their huge lists, they then offer the item to the rest of their lowly affiliates.

What is Internet Marketing Sin?

In it's simplest form, it is perpetrating an untruth. Once upon a time it may or may not have been true, but things have changed.

The Internet is in a constant process of change and growth (like the Universe), and certain statements that once were valid and correct, no longer have meaning or value, or have less meaning or value to Internet Marketers today than they did a few years, or even a few months ago.

Example of an Internet Marketing Sin

Start a link exchange program in order to increase your search engine rankings.

This is not as effective today as it once was. The reason? The search engines are filtering out certain pages as irrelevant. A real life example of a page getting filtered out is one that is named "links.html", and maybe even directories called "links" could be targeted in the future.

This is just *one* example. I wander how many things we are doing which is at best is only a waste of time, and worse, is getting us banned and costing us money?

How does Internet Marketing information become a Sin?

The same way it does in any area of thinking.

Example: For decades, our parents, grandparents and great grandparents have watched ads on TV which claim milk is good us. Also, the parents *teach* their children that milk is good for them without ever doing any of their own research on the matter. They accept what they see on TV as truth and never question the validity of these "milk is good for you" statements. It must be true, there was a doctor on TV telling me so and mum told me ever since I can remember.

And so a sin is born. A belief based on an assumption without any investigation whatsoever. This sin gets passed down from generation to generation as absolute truth.

Another example: Industrial-age thinking. Parents who were brought up in the industrial age believe in getting a nice safe secure job and working hard for 48 weeks a year for someone else so that they can retire in comfort.

This sin is is still being passed down from parent to child. It is also being taught in schools as part of an education program. It must be the way to go, everybody mocks me if I think something else which opposes this.

In the same way, someone who got into Internet Marketing years ago could be perpetrating information which is simply not relevant today or maybe never was relevant. The information only served to waste our precious time, vacuum clean our wallets and line the pockets of the perpetrator.

These people might have published a book or started some kind of service on the Internet. The book or service is being plugged by thousands of affiliates who recruit even more affiliates.

This is how sins, errors in thinking, false beliefs or whatever else you want to call them get passed along the the Internet Marketing Community.

Differentiate between the true and the false

On the Internet, seven generations is not like seven human generations. Information passed on seven times, seven levels deep is seven generations.

Just because someone permission markets you with some new tool which will explode your Income, search engine rankings or traffic, does not mean that it will work for you today.

Hell, join their affiliate program and spread the sin one more generation. Recruit others who will recruit others and help you spread the sin.

Conclusion

Reading up-to-date search engine books is a step in the right direction, as is lurking around good webmaster and SEO forums. There you can ask questions about particular products and get feedback from those who have walked the path before you.

Lead Me On - Learn About Internet Marketing Leads

Lead Me On - Learn About Internet Marketing Leads

by: Mal Keenan

Every business is engaged in selling something, whether a product, service, information, or something else. And sales usually begin with sales leads. As an offline example, new insurance and car sales people are frequently asked to compile lists of their friends, families, acquaintances, and so on. This list is used then as a lead builder - something to get the ball rolling towards that first big sale. The online world is no different. Every for-profit web site needs a steady flow of internet marketing leads. A big part of any online marketer*s job is to generate the leads that will ultimately be responsible for another sale. In particular, in the highly competitive online marketing arena, someone selling products and services to other marketers will need a steady flow of fresh internet marketing leads to fuel their sales.

Selling to internet marketers is a tough market segment to compete in. New products and services are released at an amazing rate. These new products and services are sometimes driven by new technology, other times by changes in market conditions or search engines, and still others are variations of existing products. Some of these products are themselves designed to help capture internet marketing leads!

There are several basic ways to capture new leads online. The most commonly recommended method is to build an email list. There*s an old direct marketing axiom *The money is in the list*, and this has held true on the internet as well. Email marketing may not work as well as it used to, due to spam filtering, but that*s not to say it*s not effective. After all, other than your time, it*s free to send, and response rates for email that does reach the intended recipients have remained steady. The theory of this type of internet marketing leads generation is that an email list works as the first part of a funnel system, whereby subscribers get some incentive to sign up for the list. It may be a free product, program, or report, or some other incentive that will then *funnel* responsive customers to your main products and services.

Other common lead generation techniques include using pay-per-click (PPC) advertising, adding information about a site, product, or service to an email signature file, and posting and answering questions on marketing related forums. Just think, for someone selling to other marketers, what better free way is there to generate internet marketing leads than posting in forums where other marketers *hang out*?

Whatever the lead generation techniques a marketer uses, the most important thing to remember about finding internet marketing leads is this: to be effective, they must be targeted. This means that the leads you generate must be generally interested in the product or service you offer. For an extreme example, it probably wouldn*t make sense to try to generate leads for a knitting product on a site that is football-related. The target audience of a football site isn*t generally going to be interested in knitting products.

As you begin to build your marketing-related web business, be sure to plan a good internet marketing lead strategy from the outset. It shouldn*t be an afterthought that you*ll take care of someday - Give it a lot of consideration early on.

Planning: An Internet Marketing Strategy Many Site Owners Overlook!

Your Internet marketing strategy should include time in reading about all the marketing tools you are planning to implement on your site. Any great strategy is going to involve various types of tools all at the same time for a great overall effect on how your pages are ranking in the search engines and how your customers perceive your business online in the first five seconds they stop at your site. A visitor to your site is just that, a visitor. To increase business you want to turn these clicking visitors into buyers. You have to have a strategy to keep their attention, to talk to them more than once, and for them to visit your site more than one time.

A good strategy is going to first involve planning what you have to offer, and how you are going to offer services or goods. A solid method in delivery is very important in your overall marketing strategy because you will also tell the market about what you have to offer, how they can get it, and how the transaction is completed.

Each page if your own door to the Internet. What many online do not realize is that with improvement to the Internet and with keywords, search engine ranking and such, a visitor could be entering your site on the sales page, on the article page, or on the search page. Each page is unique and should be treated as best as possible for turning visitors to clients.

A great web strategy is going to involve one that you will know, and see the results, of what pages are being requested most often, and what potential customers are doing from that point. Are they then leaving the site, clicking on other pages, making a purchase or what? Use a strategy that will allow you to see where those surfers are heading right after leaving your site. This could be a cookie but cookies expire quickly and that still report to you what you need to know for marketing purposes.

In creating an Internet marketing strategy, you will need to set goals for your site. That you will not spend money on advertising and on pay per click, but that you will use marketing tactics and techniques to get additional traffic and additional rankings so you get visitors that you can then turn into customers. First focus on setting goals which includes finding out about the tactics and tools you have the time, knowledge and ability to use on your site.

As you set goals, you should keep in mind that it would require a little work on your own part to find the best tools and Internet marketing strategies for your own site. Set goals such as working on one marketing technique per week. After a few weeks you will have implemented all the tools and tactics, you can for your web pages and for learning more about your web market.

Set goals in putting the information you receive from your Internet marketing strategies to work for you. Make it a point to review and read all the reports available with the use of your marketing strategies to find out where visitors are going, what they are seeing on your site, and how many people who are coming to your site are purchasing from your site. As you create a strategy for your site, and for your marketing strategies, you will take each step one at a time, and build a very profitable and thriving business online.

Internet Marketing In A Room FULL Of Naked Men!

Internet Marketing In A Room FULL Of Naked Men!

by: Willie Crawford

NO, that's not one of my secret dreams :-) It's an observation that you need to make. Years ago, I read Harvey MacKay's fantastic best-seller, Beware The Naked Man Who Offers You His Shirt. I really enjoyed the book and even sent Harvey a note. He sent me an autographed copy of his book "Swim With The Sharks Without Being Eaten Alive." It's one of my most prized possessions - but back to the naked man...

When you surf the various websites offering advice and information products teaching you how to earn an online income, it becomes glaringly obvious that many people who created these products haven't done what they teach! They are in effect, "naked men offering you their shirts."

Anyone just starting out online can understand why this happens. If you put up a website on making money online, and you admit that you haven't made any yet, people will realize that you have no useful advice to pass on. To avoid this consequence, beginners often "fake it, until they make it."

One of the reasons many online marketers never "make it" in the first place is because they ARE following the advice of "naked men." They are absorbing, believing, and then re-teaching the conventional wisdom so prevalently shared in the internet marketing arena. The consequence is that not only does the creator of the info product fail, but so do all of his mislead followers.

We have two problems within this situation. The first is, "How does a beginner establish himself as an expert if he has achieved no major online marketing success?" The answer is that he creates a product in an area that he IS an expert in or that he has very thoroughly researched.

The beginner can also very easily create a product by interviewing or partnering with someone possessing the knowledge or skills he lacks. I sort of touched upon this in another article I wrote entitled, "Don't Pretend To Be An Expert, Become One." That article is available on my website at:

http://williecrawford.com/articles.html

The second problem is in knowing who is genuine and who hasn't really learned the ropes yet. My advice to many of my clients is to fully check out anyone before following their advice. Simply go to any major search engine and enter their domain or their name. Visit many, MANY of the sites that are listed as featuring something related to this so-called expert. This will give you a very good feel for who you are really dealing with.

If sites about them contain testimonials, contact some of the people providing the testimonial... especially if something doesn't quite "feel right." That's right... I'm advising you to trust your instincts.

Another way to easily check out someone is by using a website called "The Way Back Machine." This website visits sites scattered across the internet and takes a snapshot of them. So if someone tells you that they've been in business for 5 years and you see that their only website is barely a year old, run away very fast - and don't look back!

The way back machine can be found at: http://www.archive.org/web/web.php

If you enter my url, http://williecrawford.com in the search box, you will see that it offers snapshots of how sad this website looked beginning in 1998. Prior to that time, all of my websites were self-replicated websites offered by various affiliates programs, and websites built on free hosts such as FreeYellow, Angelfire, Hypermart, Webspawner, and about 30 others :-)

To digress just a little, I purchased my own domain name when someone responded to one of my posts in Links Exchange Digest insisting that I would have a lot more credibility if I got my own domain name AND ditched the Hotmail account. I kept websites on free hosts for several more years, but finally started really listening. People were telling me that using a free hosting company... building and promoting their domain, was just bad business. When I listened and took their advice, that's when things REALLY took off for me.

I've just pointed out to you a way to avoid the naked man look. If you are a beginner, get you own domain... one with a url that is easy to remember and that suggests what your business is all about. My domain name, WillieCrawford.com was a poor choice in many ways, but over the years it has developed a very strong brand. My second flag-ship domain, Chitterlings.com, was a better choice since it centered around "soul food" and the name was easy to remember to anyone familiar with that category of cooking.

Another way for beginners to avoid pretending to be something that you are not, and build online credibility, is simply to market other people's products. If you want a higher than normal commission either approach them about joint ventures, or obtain reprint rights to in-demand products. Don't waste your time and resources promoting products that there is no demand for. Many reprint rights that are offered for free are priced that way because the owner of the product couldn't sell them :-)

The benefit of obtaining products that are proven sellers through reprint rights is that you often get a tested website that will generate a steady income for you if you just drive traffic to it. It's really easy, but again, you have to make sure that the product is one that is worth the effort. The criteria that I use and suggest you use is, ask yourself if you would purchase the product at the price you plan on offering it for. Also read the template website being offered and notice whether or not it gets you really pumped up. If not, look elsewhere.

I do recommend that you eventually develop your own product or service. However, that may take some time. In the interim you need to establish a professional business that's built on quality and integrity. Avoid coming across as a fake or "naked man." Also beware of those who have to fake it until they make it. You know and appreciate that we all had to start somewhere. Most of us could not afford to buy a huge, thriving web business, so we had to start from meager beginning. Just look at my websites in The Way Back Machine for proof of that :-)

Internet Marketing By Blogging

Blogging has been practiced for years. But it's just recently that it has been considered as one of the addicting fads. Many people have resorted to blogging as an outlet for their emotions, a little online nook where they can blurt out whatever just bugs them or whatever makes them feel elated. Savvy marketers have also discovered that blogging is one of the best Internet marketing methods that won't break your bank account.

Just what exactly is blogging? Blog is the widely used term that refers to web log. In a nutshell, a blog is like an online journal. A blog could be set up to no cost at all, and can be used for just for the fun of it or most importantly for business reasons.

Blogging for your Internet business is one surefire and easy way to boost the visibility of your products and services. Here are a few ways to boost your internet advertising with the help of a blog:

1. Make your clients or customers abreast on your website's alterations. Your new services, products and affiliate websites could also be announced through your blog.

2. Share your opinions, advice or reviews on specific services or products that are related to your business. Publishing is a very easy process with blogging.

3. Keep track of your business objectives and plans through open writing. Your blog content can be easily stored through archives. What could be better than searchable information that could be easily accessed by anyone browsing the web, right?

4. Include links that will fetch back links and subsequently improve your ranking on search engines. This could be better executed through putting well-written articles in your website. Affiliate links could also be included in your blog to earn additional income.

5. Collect response through the ability of blogs to fetch comments from your blog readers. You can learn and improve your products and services through the comments and feedback left by your readers.

6. Connect easily with other bloggers. When other bloggers notice that you have something good in your blog, they will put you in their favorite lists that will automatically link you to their blogs.

So, how do you set up a blog? Here are some of the options you can make use of to take advantage of this fun way to advertise your Internet business.

Either you load a blogging software or let a blogging hosting service do it for you. Host services such as LiveJournal and Blogger.com are the most popular in this field. Those hosts will provide you with easy instructions on how to put up your blog easily.

Are There Really Shortcuts To Internet Marketing Success ?

If you want to be considered as an Internet marketing expert, you have to be up to date with the techniques and trends of today's Internet. The readers of your ezine, or your prospects in general, won't appreciate it if you publish material that worked one year ago. You have to make sure that it still works TODAY.

Force Yourself To Read At Least Half An Hour Every Day.

Why ? Because it will pay off in the end. It is just a simple calculation: Multiply 30 Minutes by 365 and you have read 182,5 hours or almost 8 full days nonstop 24 hours a day !

Increase your reading time, and you will increase your expertise... But it doesn't make any sense if you just read everything
about Internet marketing but never apply any of the tactics and techniques. Then you have wasted your time and money ....

KNOWLEDGE IS POWER!

This often cited claim still is true. But it should be supplemented by : Up To Date And Applied Knowledge Is Power ! Or can
you think of an Internet marketing expert who proclaims: You must use banner advertising to increase your sales ! Of course, not.

Study The Experts

So where do you get that knowledge from ? The best way is to go to the sites of the "experts", well known marketers which already are six figure earners, and have a look why their web site, their sales letter is so successful. Study their marketing material and adapt it (...not copy !! ) for your own business. Read their archive of articles if they have one and most important of all:

Subscribe To Their Ezines.

Most of them are revealing quite a lot of their "secrets" in their free newsletter (of course not everything or they wouldn't make any future sales anymore...). Study their autoresponder message series. How do they try to convince their prospects to buy their item ?

How many times do they repeat their sales message for a special item ? By subscribing to the best ezines in your area of expertise, you can almost guarantee that you will adapt many of their marketing habits, their writing style or even better, their power of convincing people to buy their "stuff".

Make Money Fast ?

Internet marketing, especially selling information products is nothing where people, who are really serious about it, can make a lot of money in a very short time. If you are just starting out, you don't have the traffic, the reputation or even the expertise to sell information products worth $10.000 + .

This is a process, that takes a lot of time and devotion to your business, before you are recognized as an expert and before you can convince people to buy from you.

So, Are There Shortcuts To Internet Marketing Success ?

Internet marketing has a lot to do with trial and error. You could save yourself a lot of time if you really READ the ebooks of the experts, not only buy them and file them away. And when you have understood what they are revealing, test it for yourself if it really delivers.

Many of them explain in detail which mistakes they have made, how they improved their abilities, how they got enough traffic etc. If you READ this material and USE it , you have saved yourself already a lot of time and yes, you have taken a shortcut because you won't make their mistakes (instead, you are making your own...., believe me ).

But making mistakes in general is also a way of learning. Don't give up if something turns out to be the wrong decision. Be persistant, and you will succeed ! The ones who have made a lot of
mistakes, are those who have learned best!

Ask the experts....

Internet Marketing 101

Starting an online business does not have to be difficult. Mostly, it is a matter of knowing where to go to get the information needed to get started. Internet Marketing is the term used for marketing your business effectively on the Internet.

Many online businesses fail not due to lack of knowledge or resources, but because they aren't marketed properly. The Internet does not respond to traditional marketing methods the way a brick and mortar business would. The bottom line is, if you don't know Internet Marketing, then you need to hire someone that does. This is true because it's better to start your Internet Marketing campaign off right in the first place than to try to go back and correct it once you already have a viable web presence. This can be both costly and time consuming, and, as is the case with most Internet Marketers, you are probably short on both time and money. To start your online business, you must do the following:

* Decide what products or services you want to offer * Get a reliable, knowledgeable web hosting company * Design and build your website * Develop an Internet Marketing Plan * Implement the Internet Marketing Plan

Sounds simple, doesn't it? Well, it is if you have someone to do all that work for you, and the money to pay them. However, if you are short on money, you will need to do some of the work yourself. The fact is that a majority of Internet Marketers do most of the work for their sites themselves, unless it is too technical and out of their realm. Below are some of the steps involved in basic Internet Marketing:

* Optimizing your Website * Getting Reciprocal Links from other, relevant sites * Organizing an article/press release campaign (for one-way links)

You will probably be surprised to know that it is possible to get at least some of the above services all in one place. For example, having a knowledgeable web hosting company is one key to effective Internet Marketing. Your web hosting company may also offer web design services , and be able to help you design and build a viable website. Ideally, the company you choose for web hosting should also have Internet Marketing expertise. This is especially important if you are new to the world of Internet Marketing.

Deciding to start an online business can be a daunting task. By enlisting the right professionals to help you, your Internet Marketing campaign will have everything it needs to make your business successful right from the start.

Do Your Own Internet Marketing.

If you have tried to hire online marketers in order to generate traffic to your website, you know how unbelievable expensive this can get. In many cases you may not even have been very satisfied with the results which came from this attempt done by so called expert online marketers. Of course it will not be what you have dreamt of because no one is going to put in the amount of work it actually takes to promote a website, especially not someone else's site.

Hiring internet marketers to do the job so that you will get the results you want will cost you more money than what you probably willing and/or able to spend. So what do you do? Take the matters in your own hands. Contrary to what you may think, you do not have to be an expert internet marketing person in order to do your own marketing. It is actually quite simple not to mention much less expensive than hiring someone else to do it for you.

Believe it or not but writing articles and submitting them to article directories are one of the most effective ways of marketing your website or product. Really, it is that simple as long as you are willing to put in the time to write these articles. The more articles you write about your site and subject the more traffic you will see come your way. There are so many article directories out there where you can submit your articles too and the more of them you submit yours to, the better. Keep the content of your article relative to your product/site and you are bound to see a new flow of traffic.

The best thing you can do is to find niche directories regarding your topic because in doing so you know that all the visitors to those directories are looking for information regarding your product. The more links you have out there to your website, the higher you will start getting in the search engines also. Writing an article does not take a lot of time and as long as you get a minimum of 4 articles out a week you should start seeing some great results within about 2-3 weeks. The more articles, the merrier.

Again, if you are no longer willing to throw your money out the window in hopes that one of the internet marketers you hire will actually produce the results you want, take matters in your own hands from now on. If you are not confident in how to write articles then visit one of the article directories and read some of the articles which has been submitted there by someone just like you. Someone no longer willing to throw their money away or put their faith in the hands of someone else.

Pick Discussion Forums As Your Major Tools In Internet Marketing

So the breadth and quality of know-how in discussion forums, like Warrior Forum or AssociatedProgramsForum, is amazing. Members dig into all detailed aspects of their businesses, which gives other members real, practical help.

Everybody in those forums is in a need of better and new tips for his internet marketing. In forum communities you can discuss with real legends of internet marketing, which would be impossible otherwise. Some members are newbies some are " all seen " seniors or millionaires, but the target is the same: share what you know.

Discussion forums are very " honest " places. If a member tries to advertise his business, he?ll be skipped out. Discussion forum communities are for relationsbuilding among the most useful people in the internet, internet marketers. Members build joint efforts, share opt-in leads for instance or participate each others businesses. The members of high quality forums are a huge and powerful internet marketing tool: when you share your benefits, you?ll benefit.

At forum a member can specialize in certain topic or topics only and build his respect with that. A good way to track your forum participation is to look at how many have looked at and responded to your topic. The more - the more useful you are.

Normally forums accept a few lines of advertising at the end of your post, called sig file. This is the only place to advertise, even with three copylines including urls. Using sig file you can get tons of inbound links to your website, which will inrease your rank in search engines and bring more traffic to your website. Search engine spiders will also pick your posts, and they will be seen in search results. This will exponentially increase the effect of your post.

You can think that sig file is like leaving a business card in business meeting. It must be hidden advertising. Many forums accept even three different copylines. When you plan your adcopy, think like forum member and about the nature of the forum. My opinion is to use two kind of ads: one for rapid " sign up my newsletter "- type and another for your website.

Regular posts build your authority inside internet marketing community. The more you?ll post - the more respect you?ll get. The more respect you have - the more sales it generates.

Forum post will live forever in the archives of forums and all over the internet - real residual effect.

Discussion forum members are the best of the best target group for internet marketer. This also sets some quality requirements on how you contribute in the forums. Be active and helpful. Be yourself and honest and never try to advertise. Keep in mind that the idea is to build relationships and give help.

The best internet marketing forums, like those mentioned earlier, are among the most visited sites in the internet. This tells that internet marketers see them very, very usefull for their businesses. It also tells that forum members are the best target group for any internet marketing business.

The richness of the forumcontent is amazing: people from different countries and cultures, people with different education, different internet experiences, different businesses etc. share their tips to each other. What can be better! This is possible only in the internet!

Tip as a summary: read more than write. Build up longterm relationships and joint ventures.

Are You Using This Internet Marketing Secret?

If you are trying to sell a product or service on the Internet, then you are probably doing so through an affiliate program. You signed up as an affiliate(usually for free) and they gave you an affiliate ID (user name or number). They may have even given you a basic marketing package which includes text ads, banner ads,and solo ads with a link to your affiliate sales page. All you have to do is use these tools to get traffic to your affiliate sales page.

Well that sounds pretty easy, doesn't it? This process actually works too, except that your probability of converting your traffic into sales is very, very low. In other words, you may have to have thousands of people to visit your affiliate sales page before you ever see your first sell. Now those aren't very good odds, are they?

Unfortunately, that is what most people do. They spend a lot of time, effort, and money getting all of those people to that affiliate sales page and then they finally make a sale and earn a referral fee or commission. But wait, it can get even worse.Let's say that you made one sale and earned a $10 commission. That's great, right? Well not really, because in the terms and conditions of your affiliate program, you don't actually get paid until you have accumulated at least $20 of commissions. So get back to it and get another sale and finally get paid.

Internet marketing is a great way to make extra money, but you have to know some of the 'secrets'. Here's one: Invest in a Internet Marketing Course before starting a Home Business. A good course will show you the little tricks and 'secrets' to marketing affiliate programs. Here's another little tip: "Don't advertise your affiliate program directly." Besides knowledge to run a successful Home Business, you must use a four step process.

1. First, you must provide something of value. The easiest valuable thing that you can give away is information. An informative email course, special report, or ebook are all great ways to give away free information. This goes a long way in building trust with your potential customers

2. This step goes along with the initial step above. Don't give away your free information until you get an email address. You must capture the name and email address of your prospective sale in order to be able to implement the next step. To do this, have a sign up page on your website. When your prospect enters their name and email address, they will click your submit button. If you are using a autoresponder, your information will be delivered instantly and you now have a new prospect.

3. If the information that you are providing is good and helps people, then you will earn some trust. If someone gives you some information that saves you time, money, or effort; then you are going to closely read anything that they send you, as long as the information is still valuable. This is why it is so important that you get that name and email address before you start giving away your information. Now you can keep the information flowing through an occasional email to your prospect.

It seems like new information is discovered about something every day. And the topic of affiliate sales is no exception. Keep reading to get more fresh news about affiliate sales.

4. Finally, if you have been providing valuable information and earning trust from people, it is much more likely that they will buy something that you recommend. This is especially true if you can convince them that what you are recommending will help them and that it is worth their money. The easiest way to do this is to recommend something that you have actually purchased and use yourself. Just tell them how it helped you and why you think that it was worth what you paid for it! I make it a practice that I always have to be able to use the product that I promote with an affiliate program. That's the only way to know that the product is a benefit to me and my business. It is also easier to promote a product that you use and stand behind. That message will also be conveyed to your readers.

Unique Internet Marketing Stands Out From The Crowd

Several years ago, I went whale watching in Bar Harbor, Maine, while on vacation. I remained in the large, central cabin with my poor seasick infant son when a whale was finally spotted.

The Captain announced, "Whale to the starboard", and a mini-stampede of about 70 tourists scampered over just in time for the briefest of glimpses as it quickly submerged again. Everyone jostled and jockied for position to get the perfect camara shot for when that darn whale resurfaced.

But of course, it wasn't going to work out this way. "Whale to the port side", announced the Captain, and the stampede to the other side literally tipped the boat. Naturally, the whale had disappeared by then as well.

This went on like this -- back and forth -- for about twenty minutes. The whale seemed to be toying with human nature -- the tendency for people to do what everyone else was doing.

And EVERYONE was zigging when they should have been zagging. There were no 'individuals'. They moved as a group in their futile quest to snap off a clear and revealing shot.

Are you moving with the crowd on the internet, or are you striking out on your own unique path, one more likely to get noticed?

If you observe your own specific internet marketplace, it's very likely you'll find that the vast majority of the 'crowd' are doing the sames things in the same ways -- and they're also getting the same poor results.

This presents a golden opportunity to be noticed by doing things differently.

Successful entrepreneurs, both online and off, are innovators and risk takers. They *experiment*, *evaluate* and *evolve* until they successfully convey that both who they are and what they offer is unique in the marketplace, despite all the competition.

To seperate yourself from the pack, you need to look at every aspect of your internet marketing effort and ask yourself, "What's unique about this?" And, "How does this contribute to my own unique web presence?"

Here's some important areas to look at to get you started.

* Are you playing it safe and trying to please and sell everyone, and consequently selling to almost no one?

* Why should your prospects believe YOU when they are skeptical of so many others?

* How about your ezine? Is it similar to countless others or is there a unique theme or tone running through it?

* While your ads may be well written, is the overall message very much the same as the pack?

* How is your sales page unique? And have you given it a measured dose of your own personality?

This process of developing a distinct 'uniqueness' is subjective, involves risks, takes work to implement, and time to evaluate and change again if necessary. But in doing so, you will develop the factors crucial to successfully setting yourself apart in a very competitive marketplace.

Back onboard, my wife took a chance and went to the OTHER SIDE of the boat, alone. Sure enough, the whale popped up for a few seconds, she got the shot, and that was the last that was seen of that whale, or any other, for the rest of the trip. There were alot of unhappy tourists grumbling on the way back.

Stand out from the crowd. Move to the empty side of the boat -- and you'll stand a much better chance of getting your picture of the whale.

Confession Of An Internet Marketing Expert!

by: Willie Crawford

Do you really believe that there are people making VERY comfortable livings selling stuff over the Internet? Or do you believe that they're just a bunch of fakes who'll tell you ANYTHING just to get your money?

Like many of you, when I first came online I believed that it WAS possible. Then, meeting with marginal success for a while... as I marketed many different products, I began to doubt. It was during this time that I watched many friends who've come online at the same time that I did, simply give up and go back to their regular jobs. I never seriously considered doing that despite my wife's "suggestions."

Eventually, I was exposed to those actually doing what I dreamed of doing. I met them at conference and workshops. I talked to them on networking calls and teleseminars. Slowly, I began to believe again. I saw people offering irrefutable proof that they were really making the big bucks. Like many people, I reasoned that if they could do it then so could I.

When I say big bucks, I mean over $200,000 a year. To someone from my background that is a significant annual income. My annual goals are now seven-figure, but I still keep grounded and acknowledge that a six-figure income is above average. So it's the six figure income that I sought the secret to earning.

Then, one day, I woke up and it was happening to me. At that point, I asked myself, "How did it happen?" I actually sat in bewilderment as I asked, What happened?" I needed that answer because I wanted to show others.

Here was my biggest challenge! Every week I was approached by people with very big dreams. They wanted to build a business on the internet to supplement their incomes or maybe even completely quit their day jobs. Long after I was able to leave my day job and earn a full-time living on the internet, I really couldn't explain to others WHY they couldn't do it too.

I knew what I was doing and what was working for me, but there seemed to be a missing piece of the puzzle.

I needed that missing piece of the puzzle because by this time I had become a trusted advisor and role model to many. I viewed their trust in me as almost sacred and I desperately didn't want to mislead them. What a tremendous burden!

I knew that the answer had to be in something that I had done. It had to be in something that my role models and mentors had done.

As the pressures of desperately needing to make money just to pay the bills lifted, this allow me to view things from a more detached view. What I began to see and understand was mind-boggling.

The first thing that became apparent was... what all of the experts had been telling me was actually THE WAY. The problem was that I couldn't hear what they were saying over all the noise in my head... the noise born of desperation to find a way to earn a living online... that struggle to succeed that so many do experience.

When that noise quieted down, I could see that first of all there are only a handful of "Internet marketing experts" making the big bucks online in "Internet marketing." Many of these are actually making most of their money in niche markets. Many of them are also making much of their money in the offline world... often in mail order.

This is what they were telling me from the very beginning though. However, for some reason, I couldn't hear what they were saying. I could not hear their message. It was like I was deeply submerged under water and could barely see or hear them just above the water's surface.

What were they yelling? "Find a niche and fill it!" Some even taught, "Find a niche and totally dominate it, ethically exploiting it in every way possible."

Recently, I found these teachings reinforced even more. One of my friends shared a manuscript with me that told the stories of people earning from $100,000 to $18 million per year... all selling very niche products over the internet. One of these was an affiliate marketer, but he was targeting very specific niches.

My friend had actually tracked down and interviewed over 60 people who were making the big bucks. He had asked each of them over 75 probing questions to get at the very essence of what they did and why it worked for them. As I read the answers to the interviews he conducted, they firmly confirmed all that I'd slowly learned over the past 7 years. They confirmed that all of the things the experts had been teaching me were true.

Had I gone full circle? I now believed the possibilities were as limitless as I perceived them to be when I first came online. When I first came online I saw the possibilities of earning a living on the Internet as totally limitless. I even named a site and an ezine "Limitless." Now you know the rest of that story :-)

Internet Marketing (marketing products and services over the Internet) is truly the greatest opportunity that most of us have available to us. The barriers to entry into your own business are so low. The only element really missing for many is the how-to.

My friend compiled his interviews into an ebook which he called Success Alert - Conversation With Successful Internet Entrepreneurs. This ebook is actually just 9 of the best interviews that he conducted. That fills a 281 page ebook. I encourage you to check out this ebook at: http://www.profitautomation.com/app/adtrack.asp?AdID=79505

I've just shared with you a cycle that I think many internet marketers go through as they gradually figure out the puzzle. The baffling part is how difficult it can be to see what people are telling you. We seek answers and are given them, yet we often don't hear them.

Yours in service and gratitude.

Internet Marketing For Sales Leads

NO matter what business you are trying to build online, you will need sales leads if you are ever going to make sales, and sales leads are what you are trying to generate if you are marketing on the internet. In order to survive, any web site needs a steady flow of qualified leads.

The aim of any lead generation campaign is to build your mailing list. Internet marketers often say "the money is in the list", which is totally true. A list of responsive buying customers that trust you is worth its weight in gold!

While spam filtering has lessened the impact of email marketing, it?s still a viable means to getting your sales messages out there. In theory, email is marketing is free, although of course its costs you in terms of your time. The theory behind email marketing is that by using a "hook" such as a free product or some other incentive, you can "funnel" interested parties onto specific products and services.

When you consider generating leads via an email campaign there are basically three avenues you can explore: email signatures, joint ventures and safe lists. One word of warning though, and that is avoid spam at all cost, one spam complaint can seriously damage your online business. You should familiarize yourself with the laws concerning spam, and at the very least ensure you include a un-subscription link in ALL your marketing emails. Due to spam, it is advisable that you avoid buying leads, no matter how reputable the company, buying leads can easily lead to a spam complaint, you have been warned!

In its simplest form, email marketing is a matter of putting a signature in all your emails that contains a link to your main product.

If you are looking to vastly increase your list quickly then a joint venture (JV) may well be the key you need. In its simplest form, in a JV you supply the product and a fellow marketer supplies the leads and you share the profits. Hopefully, you will then get the emails of your fellow marketer?s customers, so you can then mail them with further offers.

When considering a joint venture there are many considerations you have to think about, but the main one, before you consider contacting anyone about mailing to their list, is "what's in it for THEM", not "what's in it for me". NEVER write to a fellow marketer unless you can offer them something of value in return for their help, and that is not necessarily just a share of the profits, be inventive!

Finally you have safe lists. A safe list is a list of people that have agreed to receive marketing emails in return for being able to send their own marketing email. The value of this form of marketing has never been that good. After all you are trying to sell to people who are only interested in selling to you!

You can use pay per click advertising such as overture or Goggle adwords to advertise your site and draw in interested leads.

One other highly effective way of generating interested leads is posting in forums that are related to your area of business. Include a link to your site in your signature and people interested in your sphere of business will often click it if your forum post was interesting.

Three other popular sales lead generation techniques are submitting articles to ezine publishers and article directories, press releases and testimonials for products in your target market.

No matter what lead generation technique you employ you will need a way to capture your leads email address when they arrive at your site.

The traditional method has been to use a pop up or pop under which contains some incentive to get someone to sign up. With the invention of pop up stoppers their effectiveness has dwindled and therefore unstoppable pop ups (also know as hover ads or slide in ads) have evolved. This new generation of pop ups are built into your webpage and as such cannot be stopped. Simply do a search on Goggle for "unstoppable pop up" and you are sure to find a software solution to produce these types of pop ups for you.

The other alternative is to use what is called a "name squeeze page".

In essence a name squeeze page is a web page whose sole purpose is to capture an email address.

They generally contain a small amount of information about the product or service you are selling as a "teaser" for the reader and will contain a sign up form, with a message like "to find out more simply fill in the form to be immediately directed to further details on this amazing product".

A name squeeze page not only helps build your list, this information can also be used with certain software to help personalize your site for your visitor, a technique that has been shown to increase sales. Again, simply do a search for name squeeze page generators.

No matter how you generate sales leads there is one thing always to bear in mind, and that is to be effective your leads must be in your targeted market. If, for example, you are selling internet marketing products, then it's no use advertising on a site that is all about scuba diving!

When you start to build your online business, ensure you include a well thought out sales lead generation strategy from the beginning. Do not make it an afterthought; this should be in place from the very beginning if you want your business to be a success.

Internet Marketing: Avoid "

Internet Marketing: Avoid "Blind Sheep" Mentality

If you want your online business to succeed, you have to give it your own twist, not follow someone else like a blind sheep. Despite what the Internet marketing gurus tell you, you will not likely be lying on the beach any time soon just by following their methods.

As with anything, there are those few (very few) who will leap into the forefront with a new idea or a new angle on an old idea. Then along come the rest of us, and like blind sheep, we follow these gurus, expecting to reap exactly the same rewards. It doesn't work that way.

First, we are no longer unique in the marketplace. The particular guru we're following got there first.

Second, we aren't selling the same product or service as our guru. Even if we're selling Internet marketing ideas, and so is our guru, we still have our own unique perspective on it. I hope we do, anyway. Otherwise, we're not going to have anything worthwhile to offer. If we're just carbon copies, people might just as well buy from our guru.

Third, we are never going to follow our guru's advice word-for- word or step-by-step. You and I will do it differently even if we've bought the same "Business in a Box." If you apply yourself more than I do, you'll do better. If you buy advertising all over the 'Net and I try to get along on a shoestring, you'll do better. You'll claim the method works; I'll say it's bunk.

Or maybe I put my own twist on our "Business in a Box" and I make a killing while you're left with modest results. Now I claim it works, but you claim it's over-rated.

Are you getting the picture?

Making money on the Internet is not an exact science. It's more of an art. There are some basic principles that you must apply, but following every Internet guru around like a blind sheep will likely bankrupt you before you figure out your own secrets to Internet marketing. (Then you'll be the next guru!)

Here are seven basic principles to follow. If you accomplish these, your success is guaranteed.

1. Find your niche market. We have lots of resources for finding your niche market on our web site: http://www.ablewebs.com/internet_marketing.htm#niche.

2. Make sure your niche market spends money on products or services like yours. This is a very important piece of research. If your target market doesn't have money to spend or doesn't spend money on that kind of product, pick a different product to market!

3. Build a mailing list. How? Capture email addresses on your web site, write an ezine, purchase opt-in subscribers.

4. Advertise. Where? Online classifieds, ezines, list services, print media. Put your URL on everything you send out whether it's in paper or digital format. Here are some ideas: http://www.ablewebs.com/newsletter1.htm#tips

5. Track ad results carefully so you know what's working. Use a spreadsheet, or purchase software designed for this purpose.

6. Follow-up, follow-up, follow-up. There are many theories around as to how many contacts it takes before someone will buy from you, but I've heard it's between five and nine.

Here's a true story to help you understand what I mean. Several months ago I downloaded a trial copy of a software package called "Postmaster Express" by Online Automation. Online Automation started emailing me to see how I liked it. After the trial was over, they kept emailing me...and emailing me. When I was finally in the market to make a buying decision on an auto responder solution for my business and guess who came to mind? Did I buy from them? Yes. They had been in my face for months. They didn't give up...and they got the sale. This is an important lesson.

Postmaster Express: http://www.post-master.net/rs/Andrea_Wilson

7. Have more than one product or service to offer so if one dries up, you don't starve.

If you have only one product or service, think of other ways to attract new customers: re-write stale sales copy, revamp your web site, get creative with your advertising.

For instance, if you're a chiropractor, be creative in your advertising. Target different segments of your market: today baby- boomers, tomorrow seniors. Or start a new fashion: "New Moms: How to Stay on Your Feet Longer and Enjoy it More."

How you accomplish each of these seven principles depends on who you are, what you already know, what information you read, what you have time and money to invest in, what appeals to you, and what your skills are.

I'm a writer. I write a newsletter, Press Releases, articles, etc., but I'm not an expert at writing sales letters. That's a different skill. While I'm learning, I can use the skills I already have to market my services. Maybe it'll turn out that my particular services sell better using my methods in the end and I never have to worry about sales letters.

Besides, if every web site is turned into a one-page sales letter because "that's what works," pretty soon everyone will be jaded and stop reading them. If you do something different with your web site, maybe you'll get the traffic. People come to the Internet to find information. That's the reason sales letters on web sites are often cleverly disguised as information. The price -- even if it's free -- has to be buried way at the bottom so the benefits of the product or service have really hooked the visitor before they realize they're being sold. (There's a little sales letter advice for you.)

Don't forget to look at your own interests and skills. Maybe you love participating in forums frequented by people who'd benefit from your product. It's easy for you to chat with them and they grow to trust you. The next thing you know, they're buying from you. Do you have to learn to write Press Releases? I don't think so.

If you or I do exactly what everyone else is doing, we'll be blind sheep, using stale methods to sell stale ideas. Follow the basic principles, get advice on ways to accomplish each one. Then put your own twist on them and stand out from the flock.

6 Proven Steps To Internet Marketing Success

6 Proven Steps To Internet Marketing Success

by: Mal Keenan

There is a misconception that you can come online set up a web business and be making $1000s within days. Let be put that myth to rest right away. This has not been my experience nor the experience of anyone I have come in contact with through my online endeavours.

You need to give yourself at least a year to make an online business work and budget your money accordingly. Too many times I see people ploughing a wad of cash into their businesses and again, expecting instant riches.

New marketers also make the mistake of thinking that one marketing strategy will do. Of course some avenues will produce more than others but I have found the best way is to adapt a broad based approach to your online marketing. That means spreading your time and resources over several different methods.

I will attempt to outline in this text everything I feel you need to be doing consistently to make a success of your online business.

Again I MUST point out that you need to persist is this strategy and spend your money wisely. It amazes me the amount of people who drop out after the first month or two. What do they expect, miracles? You wouldn't ditch an offline business after a month so why would you expect an online enterprise to be any different?

If you fail to plan then you plan to fail.

Bottom line is, targeted visitors = sales. This is definitely a numbers game and obviously the more targeted visitors you send to your website the more money you make. The concept is simple but you need to maintain a healthy focus to ensure that you stick this out for as long as it takes to make a profit, and progress to financial freedom online.

Here are the methods I use to send daily visitors to my sites:

1)Build Your List

It's true what they say that the money IS in the list. Most successful online marketers have large lists of targeted prospects that they can send their offers to on a regular basis. Anyone new to this business should begin to build this list immediately.

You have to start somewhere and it takes time but it is certainly worth your while to begin now and develop a lasting and trustful relationship with those list members who eventually will feel comfortable in purchasing your recommendations. When trust grows this targeted list will become a virtual money tree and make you cash at will. Some marketers are able to makes $1000s sending an email to their list, which takes little more than a few minutes to write. Can you see the power in this method?

I use a couple of different methods, online forms at all my websites encouraging prospects to add their name and email addresses plus I also purchase many of my addresses from other companies that can send me 1000s of emails for affordable prices. These addresses are spam free and can grow my list a lot quicker than I could ever do from my own websites.

I have set up some tutorials here for companies that will send you targeted visitors:

http://www.pluginprofitstraining.com/listopt.html

http://www.pluginprofitstraining.com/listmedia.html

2)Pay Per Click search engines.

Over the years I have used PPCSEs to send 1000s of visitors to my sites. This is a fast track way to drive traffic to your sites. You can be up and running and getting hits in minutes.

I use http://www.overture.com, http://www.findwhat.com, and http://www.7search.com. These are three of the most popular but there are many others which you can find here:

http://www.payperclicksearchengines.com/

I suggest you use Wordtracker (http://www.workathomebiz.info/wordtracker.html) to accumulate as many TARGETED keywords as you can. The more targeted keywords you collect the more visitors you get.

The idea is to ensure that you are paying less for visitors on a monthly basis than the sales you make.

3)Google Adwords (http://www.google.com/ads/)

Google adwords is similar in principle to PPCSEs in that you pay for your visitors. I suggest you use Wordtracker (http://www.workathomebiz.info/wordtracker.html) to accumlate 1000s of keyword phrases.

4)Article Submissions

Submitting topical articles is one of the most affordable and at the same time effective marketing strategies I know of. For more info and the resources to do this visit here:

http://www.pluginprofitstraining.com/articlesubmissions.html

5)Regular Search Engines

Yahoo, Google, and MSN send me as many visitors per day as any other strategy I use. It is highly recommended that you get started immediately to begin to build the online web presence of your website and thus your search engine rankings.

I have done this mostly through a reciprocal linking campaign which has had a greater effect on my search engine rankings than anything else. I employ the use of Linksmanager (http://www.workathomebiz.info/linksmanager.html) to automate my links campaign for which I pay a monthly fee or you can set up your own links manager at your own site using Kevin Ocasio's excellent Reciprocal Manager (http://www.freeadvertz.com/recipmanager.html).

For affordable search engine submission software try Web Position Gold (http://www.webpositiongolddownloads.com)

Please note: This is a long term strategy, so it will take at least a few months of persistent action to see any results at all.

6)Forum Posting

One of the greatest things that happened to me in my online career was being appointed moderator at one on the most popular online internet marketing forums. This has opened up more avenues and opportunities than any other strategy. I suggest you visit the popular, high traffic online forums daily and make it a point of sharing your experiences and giving your advice as often as possible. Get yourself seen!

The thing about this method too is that you can have a link pointing to your site in the signature of each post you make. Posting at forums will send daily traffic to your site AND the visitors will be highly targeted.

Here are two high traffic forums that I frequent:

http://www.ablake.net/forum/

http://www.howtocorp.com/forum/

This one isn't high traffic yet but I will be there to answer your questions:

http://www.home-business-tips-newsletter.com/forum/

In conclusion:

I have been marketing online since 1998 and have tried 100s of different ways to drive targeted traffic to my websites. The above six strategies work, so I suggest you print them out and make the methods part of your daily marketing plan for the foreseeable future.

If they can work for me then they WILL work for you.

I wish you every success in your efforts.

10 Steps To Internet Marketing and Huge Profits

While some people succeed in Internet marketing, some fail dismally and lose a lot of money they would have invested.

Getting started in internet marketing involves a lot of things, namely having your website designed, your sales page created and adding Ad Sense added onto your site. Setting up an auto responder and a newsletter for your site visitors to subscribe to, as well as your blog will also need to be done. In addition, creating a marketing campaign to generate traffic is yet another very important thing to do - your Adwords, creating some viral marketing tools, search engine optimizing your website, and writing and submitting articles, among other things. You will also need to know how to track your ads so that you know which ads work and which do not.

All these activities are essential if you want to succeed with your internet marketing. They are all very important, and they all need to be done. For those people new to internet marketing, all these activities can be daunting. Some people would like to do internet marketing, but they just do not know where to start.

So what steps must you take to get started in internet marketing? What must you do in order to succeed with your internet marketing business? Outlined below are the key steps you will need to take if you are to be successful in internet marketing.

1. Set up your goals. What do you want to achieve in the short and long term? Are you planning on having internet marketing as your main income generator? Do you want to just have a part-time online business? How much do you want to earn. Your goals will help you decide what type of internet marketing to get into; depending on how much income you want to earn.

2. Decide on what you are going to be marketing. Are you going to create a product yourself, are you going to be offering a service? Are you going to be marketing someone else's product? Are you passionate about that which you sell?

3. Design and create
